As a huge horrorfan since the early 80s I have seen a tremendous amount of horror flicks, but I can honestly say that this is one of the few that I will never forget. This is a movie that will make you feel a whole lot of things and there was even perfectly timed humor also which made it eben better. Look no futher, this is the best horror film of 2019 and one of the very best the last deacde.

Midsommar bear. Trust me when I tell you horror fans will love this. Especially horror fans who also happen to like Wes Anderson and aesthetics in general. This movie is more than a thriller, it's legitimately horrific, you could maybe call it a psychological thriller. It uses aesthetics to convey very very difficult to watch scenes. It has an underlying moral without being preachy.
The cinematography was brilliant and the acting was great. The start had a bit of a cabin in the woods, Friday the thirteenth esque old school feel when a bunch of friends including an effed up couple go for a vacation and things go awry, but it conveyed so much more. The acting was so realistic and Mark even gave us a few comedic relief moments. There's something very unique emanating through Danis character, an unchecked rage due to being quiet for so long.
It took me a while to understand how the chelhovs gun principle would apply to the starting scene but then I got how desperate dani was for a family and to be family to someone, it came full circle like the real good movies only reason I cut a point was because sometimes it got too slow when showing scenes. But man I am confident ari asters going to do some great stuff now. Trust me if you're a psychological thriller fan, do not miss midsommar.
